Disney’s LucasFilm has registered a series of domains for an as yet announced project that appears to be titled Star Wars Attack Squadrons. The registration includes domains such as StarWarsAttackSquadrons.com, SWAttackSquadrons.com, AttackSquadrons.com and AttackSquadron.us to name just a few. You can see a longer (but not extensive) list of domains on Fusible but apparently all of the domains in question were registered on July 26th 2013 although none of them lead to an actual web page at the time of this writing.
In addition to this, EA has actually owned AttackSquadron.com and AttackSquadron.net domains for a number of years, which is quite coincidental but does this mean that another Star Wars IP is going to be revealed? Possibly something similar to Star Wars: Rogue Squadron? Whatever it actually turns out to be, it would seem clear that Disney is intent on protecting the intellectual property as the very high number if domains registered would suggest.
When we know more about what Star Wars Attack Squadrons actually is, we will let you know here at ZKG. In the mean time, what do you think it will be? Please let us know in the comments below.
