Black Ops 2 Season Pass Details Outed

If info posted on the Call Of Duty website (since removed) proves accurate and it looks pretty legit, Black Ops 2 will have a Season Pass. Reading through the description of the season pass it appears that it doesn’t have anything to do with Call Of Duty: Elite either. It seems that Activision may be changing up the model of Elite vs Elite Premium that they had in Modern Warfare 3 and instead making Elite completely free, positioning it as the common connecting place for players. From there it looks like they will make the Season Pass the way to get all the DLC planned for the Black Ops 2 content

In terms of the details on exactly what the Black Ops 2 Season Pass will cover, check it out below.

Get 4 Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 downloadable content Map Packs, delivering a variety of new content, including Multiplayer and Zombies playable content.

Save $10, at discounted suggested retail price of £34.99*

Content expected to be available in 2013 – following the game’s launch on 11/13/12

Check for availability at your local Game Stop or Best Buy.

*Based on Season Pass suggested retail price of £34.99 and four DLC Map Packs at a suggested retail price of $14.99 each.

**Season Pass and DLC Map Packs may not be available on all platforms or in all territories. Pricing and release dates may vary by platform.

In case you were doing the math, £34.99 translates to about $55.00 USD. At this point it’s not clear whether this additional cost would be in addition to a paid ELITE Premium service. I’m going to say it isn’t, I mean there’s no way that Activision could sell that to folks, it would be ridiculous. I think its more likely that the features currently found in Elite Premium minus the DLC will be rolled into the basic free Elite service and the Season Pass would of course be separate.

So we know folks are going to have a lot to say about this latest news so hit up the comments and let us know your thoughts on this slightly different DLC approach. Do you think it works better than what was in place for Modern Warfare 3?
