Real Life Computer Privacy Breach For Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs?

Share And Comment

Ever since coming out of nowhere and wowing the world at E3, pretty much everyone has been talking about Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs. Looking and feeling truly next-gen both in its AI and astounding visuals many people think we are looking at a launch title for the next series of consoles. Meanwhile Ubisoft has been slowly building the hype machine and asking gamers to sign up for future information via their official website, Problem is that they then decided to share these e-mail addresses with a LOT of people. Oops.

What happened was that everyone who had registered via the site received an e-mail from Ubisoft this morning, only it appears that many of them received more than some info from the publisher, as within the CC field of the mail were the addresses of thousands of other users. Ubisoft has yet to comment on the alleged breach of privacy.

Not everyone received this extra information in their mail however, prompting speculation that either the error was spotted early, or else it is a giant publicity stunt focused around the Watch Dogs’ theme of computer hacking and information warfare. Interesting.
