Resident Evil 6 is to be more than twice the length of its predecessor, Resident Evil 5, which is not exactly a game that was known for its short play-through time. Yoshiaki Hirabayashi, the producer of Resident Evil 6, said in an interview with the PlayStation Blog that each one of the game’s different storylines “is probably around 70 per cent to 80 per cent of the volume of the whole game in Resident Evil 5”. He continued: “So with three separate storylines, there’s plenty to play here.”
As has been previously revealed, the game has been split into thirds. The first sees Leon Kennedy and series newcomer Helena Harper team up in Tall Oaks, another follows Jake Muller and Sherry Birkin in Eastern Europe, while the final segment has Chris Redfield and partner Tony Ponce take on hordes of the undead creatures in China.
