Black Ops 2 Getting Ranked Dedicated Servers On PC Plus Pre-Order Bonuses For Steam
Call of Duty PC players are a loyal bunch, over the years they have stayed with the award-winning shooter even if they hard feelings about the past. Well, this year will be different for those keyboard wielding soldiers, as Black Ops 2 will receive dedicated servers and some pre-order bonuses off Steam just for good measure.
The announcement was made by Treyarch’s director of technology, Cesar Stastny (@PCdev), on his Twitter account and simply read, “Confirmed: Ranked Dedicated Servers for Black Ops 2.” Last years entry Modern Warfare 3 also ran dedicated servers for PC players, but only unranked servers, with Black Ops running both un-ranked and ranked. Gamers will have to pay out of their pockets to rent a server, nothing new in that aspect.
Treyarch’s Cesar Stastny also stated on Twitter that those who pre-order the upcoming shooter from Steam, will receive pre-order bonuses, he said, “I can confirm that there will be a bonus for all Steam pre-orders but it is not announced yet.” So no word on what the bonuses will be, you never know with Call of Duty, you could end up with a machine gun wielding monkey delivered to your house.
Stastny also said that in-game mouse sensitivity for Black Ops 2 is been tweaked, Modern Warfare 3 players complained about mouse slowness. Treyarch is definitely on top of things for PC users, all gamers have to hope for now is some Mod Tools to play with, Black Ops had them, so fingers crossed. Black Ops 2 will be hitting stores on November 13th for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
