That’s right kiddies we are getting dangerously close to WWE Smackdown Vs Raw 2011’s October 26 release date and while its close we are not quite there yet. But that doesn’t stop us from taking you deep into one of the game’s most beloved modes to show you just what you will have to deal with this year in your Road To Wrestlemania.
In WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2011, THQ is introducing a whole new way of playing the Road to WrestleMania mode. This year, players will truly feel what it’s like to live the life of a WWE Superstar as they deal with the choices and realities of a backstage environment with more freedom and player choice. Along the way, players will form alliances or make enemies backstage that impact the Road to WrestleMania journey. They can choose to play as one of five different WWE Superstars (we know right why couldn’t we use anybody) and experience their unique stories like never before. In addition, they will solve puzzles, complete challenges, uncover hidden items and unlock both WWE Superstars and historic WWE Legends of the past. There is always a twist in the story, and it’s all up to your decisions.
This year’s Road to WrestleMania storylines feature the following WWE Superstars:
- Undertaker – play in a “versus” mode against the Undertaker utilizing John Morrison, Kofi Kingston, R-Truth, Dolph Ziggler or a created Superstar
- Chris Jericho
- Rey Mysterio
- John Cena
What would Road to WrestleMania be without the dramatic qualities that only can be delivered through WWE programming? This year, in Road to WrestleMania, players will experience a living, breathing world around them on their journey. Whether it’s the drive to a different arena every week, can’t-miss cut scenes or live interviews taking place, players will be virtually given everything WWE has to offer to its viewing audience.
Throughout a WWE Superstar’s Road to WrestleMania, players are given multiple choices that will affect the “road” they take to the top. In an RPG-like fashion, players are given “Superstar Points” from matches they play. Players must spend these points in the training room to boost their attribute ratings, meaning the desire to max out all ratings is not an option. Players must choose which attributes they upgrade depending on their chosen WWE Superstar and playing style. All you RPG fans out there don’t beat them up too much, they did say RPG “elements”, I guess they can get away with that lol.
YOU Are the WWE Superstar
From the drive up to the arena to the ring entrance, players will feel like they are their chosen WWE Superstar. All throughout Road to WrestleMania, the feature puts the player in different third and first-person perspectives to show they are not watching a storyline play out, they are actually a part of it.
Alright folks, that’s all we got. Well not quite, we do have video below to give you some first hand looks at the RTWM as well as tons of additional screens in the gallery below, enjoy.
