That’s right folks, Samsung has finally made it official that one is most popular smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy S will be getting the update in Mid-October and since we are already half we through this month, we figure that it will be any day now.
Some of the improvements delivered by Android 2.2 that many other Android phone owners have been enjoying for months now are:
- Adobe Flash Player 10.1
- Google Maps with GPS navigation and voice guidance
- Preview by pinch-zoom on the home screen and in menus
Now the actual upgrade itself is a little different when it comes to Samsung phones. Instead of just popping into the system menu and checking for the update, Samsung requires that you download Kies, Samsung’s proprietary upgrade software.
According to the release folks here in the states will have to wait a while. Android 2.2 will first be released in Nordic region and gradually rolled out to other European markets, Southeast Asia, the Middle East Asia, North America, Africa and rest of the world.
