Jonathan Toews Slides Onto the Cover of NHL 11, Boxart Revealed

Hope your a Blackhawks fan, because you’ll be seeing more of them, in EA’s next installment of NHL 11 as Stanley Cup’s VIP takes the main stage…er, boxart.

Being one of the youngest captains in the league, yet still able to say that he’s been on a Olympic gold medal hockey team (even if it was for Canada), he’s got a bright future ahead of him. So when EA was looking for their next poster-child for the upcoming NHL11, you’re obviously going to look at the Stanley Cup winners, the Chicago Blackhawks, and their captain (whom might I add, has been able to average 65 for just the two seasons he’s been playing? That doesn’t happen).

Still it’s one thing to go from winning the Stanley Cup to a video game cover, but Toews seems excited: “The NHL games have always been great, so it’s an honor for me to be a part of the EA SPORTS family.” well said, especially considering how this is the first time in the franchise history where there will be back-to-back players from the same team on the cover. Not bad, if your team can keep up with the hype.

The game is scheduled to come out this September for the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360.
