Coming to U.S. in December 2009, digital comics for PSP™ which will feature a large library of digital comics from content partners including leading comic publisher Marvel Entertainment as well as IDW Publishing, iVerse Media and others. The service will also feature graphic novels for bite-sized entertainment on demand and on the go. Hundreds of titles will be available at launch, with new content added to the PlayStation Store regularly.
With the new Digital Comics service, PSP users can connect to any Wi-Fi hotspot and download hundreds of classic and new comics from PlayStation®Store to their PSP, to read page by page or frame by frame – putting their favorite comic book characters at their fingertips whenever and wherever they want. In addition, PSP users can access digital comics through media manager for PC.
- Content: The digital reader for PSP will offer the biggest names in comics, including: Marvel Entertainment‘s Spider-Man, X-Men and the Fantastic Four; IDW’s TRANSFORMERS and Star Trek; and, in partnership with iVerse Media, brands like Archie Comics, and Image Comic’s Proof. The service will also feature graphic novels, comics from a variety of local publishers and the latest underground sensations.
- Autoflow Feature: The intuitive Autoflow feature allows you to zoom in and move from frame to frame on each digital page, mimicking the way your eyes would move across a print page from left to right. It’s straightforward and simple to use, and thanks to PSP’s high contrast LCD screen, your comics will be looking better than ever as the stunning graphics leap out from the screen.
- Convenience: Catering to the digitally savvy consumer, the Digital Reader can connect to the PlayStation®Store wherever a Wi-Fi connection is available, giving users the option to download the latest issue or their favorite series, promising an endless supply of entertainment on the go.
