The Kickbeat Steam Edition will be available starting on July 20th! I’m excited about this news. I thought Kickbeat looked pretty cool but I also wasn’t interested enough to pick it up on my PlayStation 3 since I tend to find PC gaming to be more convenient.
The Kickbeat Steam Edition offers several new features including new music tracks taken from the indie game Electronic Super Joy. Karate-chop your way through Kickbeat to the music of Marilyn Manson, Pendulum, Celldweller, Blue Stahli, and more. You will also be able to mix in your own music from your personal library.
New features that Zen Studios have implemented into the Kickbeat Steam Edition based on player feedback from the PlayStation versions are as follows:
- Advanced difficulty available in Free Play mode.
- Adjusted the learning curve in difficulty progression.
- Beat Your Music mode is now available earlier on so that you won’t have to complete the game first in order to customize your tracks.
Other new features for Kickbeat Steam Edition include enhanced graphics, customizable keyboard controls (thank goodness) plus full X input controller support (I have no idea what that means), and of course all of Steam’s best features such as Trading Cards, Achievements, and Cloud Saves.
Kickbeat Steam Edition will be available for $9.99. Will you be pulling off some Matrix styled moves to your favorite beats?

[Note to editor: I’ve added the console release trailer cuz I don’t know if there’s a Steam one. Wasn’t in the email and I haven’t found it on their website.]
