NES REMIX GAL2Nintendo issued a challenge to gamers after the release of NES Remix. In NES Remix 1 Stage 4 “Collect The Coins” players competed for the fastest time. While no prizes outside of bragging rights to the fastest player were known, Nintendo quickly cancelled the challenge after an exploit was found leading players to have much faster times then the publisher had thought.

Koichi Hayashida the games director who issued the challenge on the Miiverse, issued a statement towards the challenge being cancelled,

Hello Everyone. Thank you very much for participating in this event. Unfortunately, we confirmed that there is a way to exploit the challenge to achieve a faster time. In the interest of being as fair as possible, we decided to terminate the event without recognizing the fastest time. We know that you dedicated a lot of time and effort towards achieving your fastest time possible. We sincerely apologize for this matter, particularly because the vast majority of people played fairly. We appreciate your understanding. Thank you.

The exploit involved repeatedly pausing the game while playing the level.

I am 24 Years Old. My first system was the original NES with Super Mario Bros. 3 and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: The Manhattan Project which is in my personal top 5. I've been a gamer my whole life and i dont expect it to change anytime soon.
