Legacy of Kain is back in the form of a PvP only game which has already upset some players. Nosgoth is a free-to-play third-person competitive multiplayer game that pits humans vs. vampires. It is based on the Legacy of Kain storyline, set a couple of centuries after Raziel was Abyssed. I would like a new single-player experience as much as anybody, but Nosgoth does look really cool!
Both the Vampires and the Humans will have three classes each with customizable loadouts. Humans will rely on traps, bombs, and deadly weapons such as a grenade launcher or flame-thrower to defeat the vampires. Seeing these in action in the video below is pretty sweet. Vampires will not only be jumping from rooftop to rooftop, but flying through the air to attack their prey!
Psyonix are the team developing Nosgoth. The studio’s first game was the highly successful Onslaught for Unreal Tournament 2004. Psyonix has also worked on Gears of War, Unreal Tournament 3, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, Homefront, Bulletstorm, and Mass Effect 3.
Nosgoth is accepting Beta signups right now! The game will require both a Steam and Square Enix account to play. There will be a live Q&A on Twitch on September 30th with the Design Director at Square Enix, the Design Director at Psyonix, and the Community Manager.
You might be one of the fans that are upset about this move to a PvP only game but seriously, have a look. Get over your disappointment of the change because it looks pretty badass!
