It was only released towards the end of August but EA Sports believes that Madden NFL 25 was the best-selling game of August although that claim is based on its own internal estimates. VG247 is reporting that EA has said in a press release that Madden NFL 25 has sold more than 1 million units in its first week at retail, which makes it the best-selling game in North America for August with gamers racking up 6 million hours of game time within that that first week.
The Seahawks vs. 49ers was the most selected match-up as it was chosen three times more than any other matchup while over in Ultimate Team, fans opened over 3.3 million packs, which was “the most in any single week since Ultimate Team was introduced in Madden NFL 10.″ The numbers you have just read are impressive but GamesIndustry has noted that the sales are down from the record-breaking first week sales of 1.65 million achieved by Madden NFL 13.
It must be said that EA did not provide any digital sales figures, and some gamers might be holding off purchasing the game until it release on the next-gen consoles in November.
