If you are a fan of the Plants Vs Zombies franchise, you might remember playing it on a console such as PlayStation 3 or the Xbox 360. You had the ability to include your friends in the action, as well as play by yourself in a single player campaign. Well, with the newest Plants Vs. Zombies game, Garden Warfare, Pop Cap has confirmed that they are taking out the single player aspect of the game, leaving it with just the multiplayer. The rationale behind this is that Pop Cap will be releasing upcoming games that are made only for multiplayer, in the same vein as upcoming console titles like Destiny and Titanfall.
Creative Director Justin Wiebe made a statement about this move:
“We definitely want to build on the game once it’s launched. We’re definitely taking a cue from Plants vs Zombies 2. Using DLC and new content updates, we want to keep players engaged in the long haul.”
An exclusive Boss Mode, only featured in the Xbox One version of the game, will allow players to control Dr. Zomboss or Crazy Face. Players will also be able to use Kinect or Smartglass, giving players a top-down view of the area, while giving them the chance to use abilities such as health drops, revive stations, and deploy artillery strikes.
The game is said to be released for Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC. The Xbox One copy is set to be retail priced at only $39.99 with the Xbox 360 and PC versions ten dollars cheaper.
