Gareth Bale To Remain On UK Cover Of FIFA 14

Despite transferring to Real Madrid in a world record deal, Gareth Bale will remain on the UK cover of FIFA 14. Bale was revealed last month to be the player who would be pictured alongside the best player in the world, Lionel Messi, on the cover but there has been speculation that his transfer would see him taken off the cover. EA likes to have a Premier League player on the UK box art for FIFA, so it was reasonable to suggest that the publisher might pick a replacement for Bale.

EA has now confirmed that this will not be happening and Gareth Bale will remain on the UK cover of FIFA. One option is that they will take a new picture of him in a Real Madrid shirt while another is simply photoshopping the shirt onto the existing picture. An EA spokesperson said the following on the subject: “Gareth Bale remains the FIFA 14 UK cover star alongside Lionel Messi. In light of his recent transfer we are working closely with his management and we will have an update soon.”

FIFA 14 will release on September 24th in North America and September 27th in Europe on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. The Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions will launch later in the year.

Thanks, MCV.

I'm a big gaming fan who has been playing games since ever since Pokemon Yellow was released in the year 2000. I'm just glad that there are decent rugby games on the PS3 now after years of nothing. I need another Uncharted game...NOW!!!!!
