Gamers who had pre-ordered Grand Theft Auto 5 from the digital PlayStation Store in Europe were able to download a large amount of the game’s files in order to reduce the overall download time at launch but some people have been able to publish some of the assets online including the complete soundtrack. Most people wouldn’t be able to do anything with these files but unfortunately some people can and posted some spoilers about the game on various Internet sites. We here at ZKG are not going to re-post any of those spoilers here.
Sony has now posted a statement about the leak over on the Official US PlayStation Blog:
Regrettably, some people who downloaded the digital pre-order of Grand Theft Auto V through the PlayStation Store in Europe were able to access certain GTA V assets. These assets were posted online. We have since removed the digital pre-order file from the PlayStation Store in Europe. We sincerely apologize to Rockstar and GTA fans across the world who were exposed to the spoiler content. GTA V is one of the most highly anticipated games of the year with a very passionate following, and we’re looking forward to a historic launch on September 17.
It is so irritating that some people would want to spoil Grand Theft Auto 5 by posting spoilers as Rockstar has worked hard on the game and want people to experience it when the full game is released and not have any surprises ruined beforehand by someone else. Hopefully most people will wait and ignore any spoilers that are posted online.
Grand Theft Auto 5 is released on September 17th and is available on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
