After lots of angling from gamers, Ubisoft has confirmed that The Division, their highly anticipated always online co-op shooter, will in fact be released for PC. Ubisoft thanked the fans for showing such enthusiasm to get the game on the platform and promised that Ubisoft Massive will use its experience with PC development to deliver a quality experience. This is great news for PC gamers and Ubisoft left themselves wiggle room when they said that they wouldn’t rule out other platforms.
The Division was announced back at E3 2013 as a next-gen console release, for PS4 and the Xbox One. The game is set in a plague-ravaged world with players having to work together to restore order. The game definitely has tons of potential and Ubisoft hasn’t disappointed lately with the quality of their titles so I have high hopes for this one. Could we potentially see cross platform play between all three platforms, who knows and for now we can only hope but I believe that the foundation is in place to make something like that happen eventually.
We’ve got some time to wait though as right now Ubisoft hasn’t put any kind of real release date on The Division beyond “late 2014”. But back to the point, PC gamers rejoice!!
