EA has announced that they will now be accepting refund requests through Origin. It’s as simple as entering your purchase history list and clicking on a “Request a Refund” button. This will only be good for games that are published by EA, not all games available through Origin. The request must be made within 7 days of purchase, within 7 days of its release date if you had pre-ordered the game, or within 24 hours of the first time you launch the game (whichever happens first).
That is pretty amazing news. They basically just set themselves up as a rental system. However, part of the fine print does say that “Refunds may not be supported where Electronic Arts detects fraud or abuse of the refund process”. This is meant to be a satisfaction guarantee. If you’re not satisfied with the game you bought, if it’s not as cool or good as you were expecting it to be, ask for a refund. This is in effect right now.
