Scott Frank, the Academy Award nominated screenwriter, has told Creative Screenwriting Magazine that he is currently re-writing the script to the Assassin’s Creed movie. Frank most recent work is The Wolverine.

Could this be the game based movie that does it right.

The rewrite is to the previous draft by British playwright Michael Lesslie. When asked about taking on this latest challenge, Frank had this to say.

“I’m rewriting Assassin’s Creed right now, and what I love about it is that I’ve never adapted a video game before and it has its own set of challenges. Especially in the world of rewrites, I love trying to do something completely different if I can.”

While video game based movies haven’t had the greatest history with critics or fans, I’m sure we’ve all seen the Super Mario Bros, this does have the potential to be a good film. Frank who earned his Academy Award nomination for Out Of Sight also, has credits on Minority Report, Flight Of The Phoenix, and Get Shorty among many others. The film will star Michael Fassbender, who will also produce.

The Assassin’s Creed movie is scheduled to be released June 19, 2015.

I am 24 Years Old. My first system was the original NES with Super Mario Bros. 3 and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: The Manhattan Project which is in my personal top 5. I've been a gamer my whole life and i dont expect it to change anytime soon.
