Payday 2 launched this week for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and looks set to improve on the foundations laid down by Overkill Software with Payday: The Heist which saw release towards the end of 2011. David Goldfarb, Overkill Software’s Game Director, did say recently that the studio is planning to support the game with “a year of DLC”. Goldfarb has also confirmed that there will be a total of five DLC packs in total are planned, he stated in an interview with Joystiq.
“Payday 2 – just like its predecessor Payday: The Heist – is a living thing. We have 5 DLCs planned together with 505 Games for the coming year,” said Goldfarb. He continued by saying that the game will be updated with a combination of both paid and free content, which is how they did it with Payday: The Heist. Will there be a possible chance of modding support for the game or Steamworks integration? Goldfarb says that they “would love to” but didn’t outright confirm anything at this time.
