Assassin’s Creed IV: New Insight Into How Big The Open World Is [VIDEO]

It’s always cool when the more information you find out about a game, the more awesome it sounds. Ubisoft continues to blow my mind. Game director of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Ashraf Ismail, told Eurogamer that it will take around thirty minutes of real-time to travel the open world, while sailing the sea’s! Imagine how long it would take on foot.

Here are some highlights from the interview:

  • The campaign alone will take 15-20 hours to complete.
  • It’s the biggest game they have ever made.
  • Hunting will play a major role in the crafting system. Crafting in ACIV sounds a lot like the crafting in Far Cry 3 to me, which I love.

Ashraf couldn’t offer a comparison of the size of the world in ACIV to the other games in the series just because so much of it takes place in the sea. Check out the exclusive interview Eurogamer got with Ashraf and see some gameplay footage of the shark-hunting!
