Well the good people over at Take-Two Interactive certainly have something to be excited about and it comes in the form of sales numbers for their flagship intellectual property BioShock Infinite. Though I think it goes without saying that BioShock Infinite has sold quite a bit, after much hype and an amazing fan reception this year, it continues to break records in most markets. Specifically, according to Take-Two, BioShock has now crossed nearly four million units sold in the North American market alone.
Take-Two’s chairman and CEO Strauss Zelnick noted during a recent financial call that “BioShock Infinite is North America’s best-selling multiplatform release so far this year, according to NPD. The title’s crossed the 4 million unit selling mark and we expect it to become the top-selling release in the BioShock franchise.”
If that isn’t enough to make fans and the company happy about the future of the franchise, I am not sure what else there could possibly be. Oh wait, there is more! Yesterday, the BioShock development team also introduced three more future DLC that are coming to keep the dream alive: Clash of the Clouds (which is a challenge set of maps) and a two part Burial at Sea (Which is a look into Rapture prior to the fall and the rise of the splicers.)
