Gamers who get Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag on either the PS3 or PS4 (or both if you’re loaded) will get an exclusive set of three missions that star Assassin’s Creed 3: Liberation’s hero Avaline. Not much was known about these missions but Ubisoft has now elaborated a little more about what the new content will involve in a brand new blog post. The brand new content will be written by Jill Murray, the writer of the PS Vita game, and will feature a much-older Aveline.
Lead writer Darby McDevitt explains more in the blog post:
“It’s a ways forward so Aveline is a bit older. It’s not directly related to the end of her story. If Assassin’s Creed IV is like a novel, Aveline’s missions are like a short story.”
“The present-day is set in Abstergo Entertainment – which is this fun, hip company to work for… at first. You are able to access the Aveline stuff because your coworkers are working on retrieving different genetic memories from all kinds of different people.”
It all sounds interesting and I look forward to playing this new content as a PlayStation 3 gamer but I do hope that one day this content will also be made available for the game on all the other formats that it is released for. Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag releases on PC, PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U on October 29 in North America and November 1 across Europe. It’s coming to Xbox One and PS4 later on an as yet unspecified date.
