Well it’s that time of the year again, where people come together over the one thing that they love more than just about anything (including chocolate dipped bacon) to frag together in a massive LAN party of Quake filled goodness.

That’s right, QuakeCon 2013 is upon the masses and QuakeCon 2013 has teamed up with Ventrilo to bring this year’s attendees a sweepstakes that has been exciting attendees for the last 6 years: Ultimate Power Up.  Still a little confused or new to the Ultimate Power Up sweepstakes?  I’ll break it down for you: Win yourself a car! (Two 2013 Ford Focus STs will be drawn for!)

So here’s what you need to know.  QuakeCon 2013 will be held at the lovely Hilton Anatole Hotel (Dallas, TX) from August 1- 4, 2013.  From August 1-3 a total of 100  tickets for both 2013 Ford Focus STs will be awarded to attendees throughout each day of the show through QuakeCon contests, random drawings, and other events.  Then at 9:30am CST on August 3 the drawing takes place and two folks go home with the prize.  Simple as that!

“Just like QuakeCon itself, Ventrilo’s group voice communications technology has been connecting people together for more than a decade,” said Brian Knapp, President of Ventrilo. “We think that the ‘Ultimate Power Up’ giveaway will be yet another reason why QuakeCon 2013 will be one of the best gaming events of the year.”

QuakeCon Exhibit Hall Hours are:

Thursday, August 1 | 10am – 6pm
Friday, August 2 | 10am – 6pm
Saturday, August 3 | 10am – 6pm

QuakeCon is now in its 18th year and will once again host North America’s largest BYOC (Bring-Your-Own-Computer) LAN party, with thousands of gamers connecting their systems to play on a world-class network. The event is free to general admission and BYOC attendees thanks to the support of id Software and Bethesda Softworks, as well as the QuakeCon volunteer staff and the 2013 event sponsors and exhibitors. Doors to the QuakeCon BYOC will open on Thursday, August 1 at 9:00am CST and will remain open through 12:00pm CST on Sunday, August 4.

Go forth, frag, play, and win.

I started gaming when it was nothing more than green screens and clunky keyboards. Today, I play everything and anything that provides for a gaming experience. Good, bad, indifferent, and some times even ugly. I'm here to tell you whats up.
