One of the biggest wrenches for gamers moving from one generation to another is that all the hard work and effort they have put into a certain game is lost forever, even more so in these days of zero backwards compatibility. Although trophies and achievements will definitely show on your shiny new Xbox One or PS4, it seems a shame that you can’t also carry over your progress on games that are released on both console generations.
In case you missed the news however, it has already been confirmed that Diablo 3 players who start their game on PS3 will be able to carry on their progress on the PS4 version of the game when it releases in 2014, as well as both versions of FIFA and Madden this year supporting the ability to import your ultimate team roster. In addition to this however, EA also seems to be looking into the possibility of the feature playing a part in Battlefield 4.
The games official Twitter feed updated recently with the following information:
We've heard reports that players would like their stats and progression to transfer from current to next-gen in #BF4. We're investigating.
