So we here at ZKG, along with the loyal fans of the Plants Vs. Zombies franchise, were incredibly disappointed when Plants Vs. Zombies 2 was delayed by PopCap Games which meant that it was going to miss its previously scheduled release date of July 18th. Fans wondered about when they would get to play the game and were informed that the title would be making an appearance later in the summer, which while not being too specific, is still not too long when you actually think about it.
This vague summer release timeframe was reaffirmed by EA today during an earnings call. This means that if both PopCap and EA stick to the window; the latest we could see Plants Vs. Zombies 2 launch would be August 31st. The free-to-play title has already seen a soft launch in Australia and New Zealand while PopCap works on the game for a little bit longer. It won’t surprise you to learn that it immediately went to the top of the free-to-play lists in those respective markets.
Hopefully there were be a more specific release date for the game and when it is announced we will bring the news right here at ZKG.
