Borderlands 2 is set to get more DLC as Gearbox Software had previously announced at PAX Australia but they won’t be releasing another season pass to cover them, it has been revealed today. Gearbox did point out that it actually included more content in its previous season pass than it said they were going to with the inclusion of the first Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack. It did this to reward the loyal fans whose continued purchases have enabled further development.
A representative for Gearbox explained their reasoning for not having another season pass for the upcoming Borderlands 2 DLC:
“Through the course of our grand experiment, we’ve also learned that fans are happy with an a la cart menu for DLC because they can pick and choose the content that they most want to buy and really customize their Borderlands 2 experience.”
“They’re voting with their wallets – and we are grateful that there are enough of them asking that we can justify the cost of developing the content.”
While it is annoying that fans cannot take advantage of a season pass to get all the DLC for a discount price, I can completely understand the reasons Gearbox has stated as to why it isn’t using one this time around. Do you agree with Gearbox or would you have preferred a season pass? Please let us know in the comments below.
