Clementine will be returning to The Walking Dead game in Season 2. There aren’t any specific details other than that she will be in the game. IGN said that the San Diego Comic-Con showed a teaser image with someone who they assume is Clementine sitting in the rain next to a child.
I haven’t seen the teaser image. From the description alone I wonder if Clementine is older or not. I remember a lot of speculation after the finale of Season 1. People were guessing that if Clementine did return, she would probably be older. I hope not. I hate skipping far into the future of characters I really enjoyed, and missing out on what happened in between. Of course, if they did fast forward to Clementine being an adult, I have no doubt that Telltale Games would make it incredible.
The Walking Dead game is a beautiful experience. I don’t consider it a video game because there’s not much gameplay, which is sad because the gameplay itself is really fun and cool. I consider it an interactive comic book. If you still haven’t “played” it, you really should give it a try. I know there’s a demo on the PS3, I don’t know about the Xbox 360 having a demo, and sadly the PC version does not have a demo. The PS3 demo is what sold me on the game. I’m not a big adventure game fan but I checked this out just because there was a demo available, and I really loved the artistic style of it. I was blown away. This was definitely the coolest adventure game I’d played in a long time. It wasn’t because of the gameplay though. It was how quickly I was drawn into the story, and how I cared almost immediately about the characters, and the mystery of what was really going on. The gameplay was a huge bonus as I really enjoyed it, there’s just not a lot of it.
Forget the hype over the game. If you haven’t played it, and you want to enjoy an extremely well told story, this is something you really should have another look at. Also revealed at Comic-Con was some news that I consider a spoiler of sorts. We’ll find out the fate of one of the characters from the first season that wasn’t already revealed. While the news is cool, I think it would have been better to not know exactly which character. So I’m not going to reveal that one myself. And I imagine we’ll witness a few extra cameos and revelations as to what happened to others also.
400 Days was a great tease at what’s to come with improved player choices that actually felt like they had more impact, and more animated scenes. On top of that, while 400 Days was the length of a single episode from the first season, it was just as fully developed as the entire season. Impressive. Telltale plans to get Season 2 out this fall.
