Another villain has been confirmed for Batman: Arkham Origins and it is none other than Jervis Tetch, aka the Mad Hatter. It is being reported that he will have more of an expanded role in the game than he did in Batman: Arkham City where he only had a short, trippy section all to himself. He was actually absent entirely from the first game in the series by Rocksteady Studios, Batman: Arkham Asylum. The character’s presence in the game is specified in the next issue of the Official Xbox Magazine (thanks to VG247).
It is being reported that the Mad Hatter will be an antagonist in what is being described as “psychotropic” action sequences that will draw some comparisons with the Scarecrow’s sections in Arkham Asylum. These “psychotropic” sequences will take placed in Alice-themed environments featuring rivers of tea and playing cards as obstacles. The overall story of Arkham Origins features a Christmas Eve plot to assassinate Batman led by the crime lord Black Mask as well as a few other sinister types.
Batman: Arkham Origins will release worldwide on October 25th for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Windows PC and Wii U.
