Alice: Otherlands Will Feature Music From Chris Vrenna Who’s Worked With Nine Inch Nails And Marilyn Manson
In the newest Alice: Otherlands Kickstarter update, it was revealed that Chris Vrenna will be contributing music to the game. He has worked with both Nine Inch Nails and Marylin Manson which I think is crazy awesome. I love the music from both! He has also worked with Tweaker and done music for Doom 3, Quake 4, and American McGee’s Alice, so I can’t help but assume the music for Otherlands should be a wonderful mix of creepy and blissful.
American McGee wants to end up with a continuous story soundtrack similar to Pink Floyd’s The Wall or maybe something similar to the animated movie Heavy Metal. Just knowing that makes me think he has some awesome ideas! Chris Vrenna is super excited to be working with McGee on the Otherlands projects. McGee regards Chris highly saying, “Chris is one of those rare musicians who can stride both sides of the aisle between performance and composition. And he does it well”.
That was the main news. But other great news was also announced in the update. Ed Goin, creator of the 2D animations in Alice: Madness Returns has also joined the team to create Otherlands! This is awesome stuff. I wasn’t too thrilled about the change from a game to movie rights at first, but the more and more I read about it, the more I’m really look forward to it. I’m a gamer so I’d prefer the game, but I am really anticipating McGee getting these short films together. I am also sure he’ll return to OZ Adventures (new name replacing OZombie) when he can.
