Nintendo Is Working On A New Game Franchise, Its Keeping Miyamoto Busy

Fans have long adored Nintendo for their flagship franchises – the Zelda’s and Mario’s of the gaming world. Every once in a while however it is nice to receive something brand new and never seen before, which seems to be an area that Nintendo has failed in lately. That could all be about to change however, as Shigeru Miyamoto has confirmed in an interview with Japanese magazine Famitsu that he is indeed working on a brand new game for a new franchise.

“We’ll have Mario Kart 8 out next spring, and at that point we’ll have the whole lineup in place, so I think it’s about time we brought out a new franchise,” Miyamoto said in the latest issue of Famitsu (as translated by Polygon). “I can’t give out details, but that’s the title that’s been keeping me pretty busy lately.”

I would imagine that we wont hear anything about this mystery game until well after the holiday season, and possibly not until E3 next year. If that is indeed the case however we can at least look forward to some exciting things coming out of Nintendo in 204.
