Wii U owners are not exactly inundated with interesting games to play and the situation just got even worse because yesterday Yves Guillemot, the CEO of Ubisoft, said that ZombiU is not getting a sequel. The fact that the game was considered a massive commercial failure is being cited as a major factor in the decision not to continue the series. This contradicts a previous report that had suggested a sequel for ZombiU was being prototyped.
Ubisoft was so concerned with the poor sales from ZombiU that they decided to bring Rayman Legends to the PS3 and Xbox 360 with the game having previously been a Wii U exclusive.
Yves Guillemot explained the reason for the decision:
“We must find a way to ensure the creativity of those games could have a big enough audience. We hope it will take off. At the moment, we’ve said ‘let’s do through Christmas and see where we are from there.'”
This sucks but hopefully the Wii U’s sales will be pick up and we will get to see a sequel to ZombiU. Do you think we will ever see another game in the series or is the Wii U going to continue to struggle? Please let us know in the comments below.
