SimCity encountered a multitude of problems when it launched in March of this year and a lot of users were very unhappy at the lack of an offline mode, especially when some of the problems encountered on launch left users unable to play the online only title. It would now seem that Electronic Arts are trying to measure the demand for an offline mode for SimCity, a survey is appearing to show.
The new survey, which has been sent to various fans of the game by the publisher, details some features that could be included in the game at some point in the future. One such feature is called ‘Classic Mode’ and comes with following description:
“In offline or online mode, play a single functioning city using cheats and unlocks allowing you to create the perfect city”
Some other features that may make an appearance include a subway system along with bus and streetcar lines. The survey was revealed by a user on Reddit and can be viewed here. If an offline mode were included, it would go against the official word from the Maxis general manager, Lucy Bradshaw, who said that the game couldn’t be playable offline “without a significant amount of engineering work by our team.”
