Sony Confirms Warrior’s Lair/Ruin Has Been Canceled

Warrior’s Lair has finally been put out of its misery as Sony has confirmed that the title has been canceled. Originally known as Ruin, the game made quite a few waves during Sony’s PlayStation Vita announcement.  After that though, it all went downhill. First came the name change to Warrior’s Lair and then it ended up in development purgatory.

Originally in development at Idol Minds, famously known for PSN arcade wrecker Pain, the game then fell into the laps of the folks at Sony’s San Diego studio. From there we got the never good long gap of time with no information about the game, being told only that the game had not been cancelled. Sony never so much as gave a release window for it.

So there you have it folks, your hopes for an action-RPG/dungeon crawler for your Sony handheld won’t be quenched by this title. It’s understandable though, if the title had been lingering this long and wasn’t strong enough to break through by now, it doesn’t make a lot of sense for Sony to waste resources on a new IP as they go into the start of a new console generation. Still hate to see all that hard work go to waste though.
