Despite all the hype surrounding the PlayStation 4, coming this holiday season, the PS3 still has plenty of life in it. Already The Last of Us has laid claim to being the best ever game on the system, and other fantastic titles like Puppeteer, Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD, Beyond: Two Souls and Grand Theft Auto V are heading our way before the end of the year. Gran Turismo 6 is another much-anticipated title being released in the twilight years of the PS3, and for fans of that series there is some great news today as the PSN update brings with it a demo for the game.
The demo will also function as an entry point to the GT Academy competition which has as its main prize the opportunity for a race driving career with Nissan – prizes don’t get much better than that! The GT Academy competition runs from today until the 28th of July and uses the famous Le Mans circuit as its testing ground for European players, and Silverstone (in England – weird) for US racers. The demo offers a tutorial, as well as several warm-up races and finally a time trial event. Even after the competition finishes however the demo will remain live until the end of August, giving you plenty of opportunity to test out the game before its release this winter.
