The Colin McRae series were arguably the best rally video games of all time and the series is making a gaming return in the new iOS racing game from Codemasters and will consists of 30 tracks from the classic PSone racing game Colin McRae Rally 2.0. The game will cost £2.99 / €4.49 / $4.99, and will run on a few different iOS devices which have been named by Codemasters as the iPad 2 or newer, iPhone 4S/5, or 5th gen iPod touch devices (thanks to vg24/7).

Colin McRae Rally - iOS

The game will allow gamers to replay some classic tracks from Colin McRae Rally 2.0

Speaking about the release, senior producer Peter Harrison said:

“It’s an exciting challenge to bring Colin McRae Rally to iOS for the first time. We wanted to make tackling every turn and jump of the point-to-point courses on your smart device as satisfying as playing those classic Colin McRae Rally games on home consoles of the day.”

He also spoke about ensuring the handling and physics ensured a proper rally experience and making sure the aesthetics of the game (graphics etc.) are up to par. I’m glad to see the Colin McRae series back again and maybe we will see a new console game in the future. I'm a big gaming fan who has been playing games since ever since Pokemon Yellow was released in the year 2000. I'm just glad that there are decent rugby games on the PS3 now after years of nothing. I need another Uncharted game...NOW!!!!!
