Square Enix have announced that the third beta test for Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn will be taking place this weekend on both PC and PlayStation 3. PlayStation 3 users will be having access to the re-imagined game at the same time as PC users for the first time and there will be a feature for cross-platform gameplay. The beta commences at 10 a.m. BST on Friday, and again on Sunday at the same time.
If you would like to participate in the beta of the PlayStation 3 version then you need to apply via the official Final Fantasy 14 website. It is important to note that if you applied to become a tester for the initial version of Final Fantasy 14 that you do not need to apply again this time round. The game is a reworking of Final Fantasy 14, which was negatively received by critics in 2010 but this title looks to be addressing the problems of the original so that is good to see.
Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn will launch on both PC and PlayStation 3 on August 27th. A PS4 version will launch sometime in 2014.
