The PC edition of Battlefield 4 is the benchmark that will hopefully be appearing on the Xbox One and PS4 if DICE and their executive producer Patrick Bach get their way. If they succeed the console versions of the game will bring 64-player matches and 60 FPS into the livings rooms (or wherever your console is) of Battlefield fans worldwide. If they do pull this off it will be great for console gamers and will bring them a new type of gaming experience.
In an interview with Eurogamer, Patrick Bach does stress that the PC version is representative of the full Battlefield and DICE want to achieve a level playing field with all of the next-gen versions of Battlefield 4.
Bach continued on and explained what next-gen players will experience with Battlefield 4:
“They [next-gen console players] will experience another level of chaos they haven’t seen before. 12 versus 12, you can keep track of quite a few people, but only so many. When you get to 32 versus 32, that’s when it becomes hard to keep track of the other team, when it feels like there are more things going on than just around me and what I can control.”
