Battlefield 4’s alpha testing stage is due to begin tomorrow and invites are being sent out right now. Apparently if you don’t receive an alpha invite then you should probably not expect one to arrive anytime soon as there is only going to be one round of alpha testing. The visuals in the test won’t match those amazing ones seen at E3, as most textures outside of the soldiers and vehicles will be incomplete.
There are two mains reasons for this alpha testing phase. The first is to try and test issues relating to the servers so everything works fine when the actual game launches and the second is to acquire general gameplay feedback. The alpha trial specifications for the PC have also been released today and you can view them below:
- OS: Vista SP2, Win7 (Win8 not supported)
- 64 bit (32 bit not supported)
- Dx10 or Dx 11 GPU with 1+GB of RAM, Dx 11 highly recommended
- 25GB HDD free space required
- Latest Origin version required
Battlefield 4 will launch for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 on October 29th with a release date for the next-gen versions to be announced in the near future.
