By now, many of you have unfortunately come face to face with this nasty little bug in The Last Of Us. We’ve detailed the issue in this post but we wanted to relay a bit of information that seems to be picking up traction and could get folks back up and playing with the autosave feature working.
For now, it appears that the solution is to disconnect from PSN, either by signing out or by actually disconnecting your PS3 from the Internet by pulling the cable if its plugged in or turning off WiFi if its wireless. The key thing is you need to do this BEFORE you boot the game. If you do, then apparently autosave and everything else works fine. It’s not quite clear exactly what in relation to being online is causing the issue but for now this seems to be an successful workaround. Still waiting on more official word from Naughty Dog.
So if you’ve been experiencing the problem, try this and then come back and let us know if it worked for you.
Update: Naughty Dog says the problem is now resolved, all you need to do is relaunch the game if you are already playing it should be fixed. It was an issue with their servers.
The autosave issue was a problem w/ our servers. No patch needed to fix it, just re-launch the game. Thanks again :)
