No Widespread Release For The Last Of Us Demo

After reading our hands-on impressions of The Last of Us demo, I would imagine by now that those of you that are able to play the demo have now already done so. If you didn’t purchase God of War: Ascension however and have no intention of getting it within the next few weeks, then it looks like your own first impressions of The Last Of Us will have to wait until the games official release later this month. That’s because Naughty Dog has now confirmed that the demo will not see a more widespread release through the PSN.

Eric Monacelli, Community Strategist at Naughty Dog, shared the bad news on the official PlayStation blog as he revealed that “the demo is only available for God of War Ascension disc owners. We have no plans to release it otherwise.” You only need to wait a while longer to get your hands on it however, as the game is due for release globally on June 14th. If you don’t want to take our word for it then several reviews are starting to trickle in from around the web which suggests the game is one of, if not the best PS3 exclusive title – so I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend that you pick it up as soon as humanly possible. With a bit of luck if the game proves popular we could be seeing the birth of a new series which will continue on PS4 and Vita.
