If you are a Netflix subscriber who happens to own a PS3 then you are going to want to read this. The Netflix app for PS3 has been updated in an effort to bring the overall user experience between the web, mobile and PS3 into closer alignment.
Netflix fixed some audio stream and subtitle issues with this update that will allow users to adjust some of these setting dynamically during playback vice having to stop your movie and come back out to the main screen to turn on subtitles for example. If you own a PS3 Blu-ray remote like I do, then you need only hit the subtitles button to turn them on or off.
Off particular appeal to me are some adjustments to the “trickplay” component, basically the method of fast-forwarding and. The mechanic has been adjusted to show more image still previews while scanning through content. This is a big thing to me because I use to always go way too far forward or backwards when trying to go back just a bit. You can also instantly rewind whatever you’re watching ten seconds by pressing left on the DualShock dpad or PlayStation remote.
As many of you already know, the PS3 is already the leading console platform for Netflix and at times beats out PC, so these latest updates should do nothing to slow that trend down.
