Only in Battlefield can players go through a building instead of around it, eject from a jet and take out the enemy mid-free fall, or flip a tank. DICE, a studio of Electronic Arts, announced that Battlefield 4 will arrive on the Xbox 360 on October 29, 2013.
As you might have imagined, neither EA or DICE have officially revealed a released date for Battlefield 4 on any platform, just that it will be released sometime within Fall 2013. As of this writing, the blog on the site has been updated to remove the release date and now simply reads: “DICE, a studio of Electronic Arts, announced that Battlefield 4 is coming to the Xbox 360.”
At this point, it’s not clear if the posting was a mistake or whether Microsoft just let the cat out of the bag too soon. We’d also have to assume that this date would apply to the PS3 and PC as well, because while Microsoft may yet lock up exclusive first access to Battlefield DLC, the game itself would be released across all platforms simultaneously. The date isn’t unreasonable, it’s a Tuesday, normal release day for games and its around the same time that Battlefield 3 dropped. Guess we will have to just wait and see if this forces EA to clarify the release sooner than later.
