New PSN Games Announced [Round Up]

Come On, Share It

In general, most game announcements trickle out one at a time, in order to maximize media coverage, or else are announced on stage at E3, Gamescom or TGS – normally to massive fanfare and some celebrity endorsement or other. Every now and then however a whole batch of new titles are announced seemingly out of the blue – making a lot of people very happy indeed.

By that over-inflated intro, you might well have guessed that Sony has announced some new games for the PS3 and/or Vita, and you would of course be correct. Some new details and confirmation of various titles heading to PSN in the near future has been released following PAX East and the Games Developers Conference 2013.

In amongst the details of games for existing platforms however, Sony has also confirmed a couple of games for the forthcoming PS4, due this Holiday period. The first of these is a port of Blacklight: Retribution, the free to play shooter which will also be coming to the current-gen machines. Secondly Sony also announced a new IP called Primal Carnage Genesis which is “a story driven, episodic single player adventure that takes place in a world where dinosaurs have been brought back to life.” Unfortunately not a sequel to the fighting game from the mid-90’s then.

In addition to this peek at next gen games, stacks of info on titles for both PS3 and Vita were also announced. Limbo was confirmed for the PlayStation Vita, as was a new title called Metrico which apparently ““delivers an innovative experience in an atmospheric infographic world”. PS3 and Vita versions of indy hits Spelunky (old-school platformer) and Divekick (one-on-one fighter) were also announced.
