Tomb Raider Multiplayer Being Handled By Team Behind Deus Ex And Thief 4
According to Eidos community manager Meagan Marie, Eidos Montreal, the studio that brought you Deus Ex: Human Revolution and is also working on the upcoming Thief 4, is currently working on the multiplayer component of Crystal Dynamic’s Tomb Raider reboot.
Marie took to the official Eidos forums to confirm the news that Crystal Dynamic’s sister studio was on the job.
“Tomb Raider will include a multiplayer offering thanks to the hard work of our sister-studio, the hugely talented Eidos Montreal,” she wrote. “The team at Eidos Montreal has been working away at the multiplayer while we focused everything on the single-player offering.”
Official Xbox magazine broke the news that the game would have a multiplayer mode last week. We expect to hear more details on the mode and how it will work in the coming weeks and months. While I’m still not completely on the bandwagon on this one, in that I don’t think that the Tomb Raider franchise needs multiplayer, I am at least now confident that it should be done to a high quality level.
