E3, Gamescom and Tokyo Game Show are of course the big gaming shows the world looks forward to each year, and each one is tailored to its own territory and comes with a share of big announcements. In amongst these heavyweights however, smaller shows also allow retailers and gamers a chance to go hands-on with the new releases.
The first of these smaller shows is Destination PlayStation, to be held at the end of February. This specific event is aimed solely at the retail sector, don’t expect to see many new announcements or any PS4 news. Instead we can hopefully look forward to hearing and seeing some new snippets of games like Beyond: Two Souls, and The Last of Us, both of which were sadly absent from Gamescom last year. It is also possible that Sony will take the opportunity to announce a price cut for the Vita, here’s hoping anyway!
Sony made the following announcement about the event which is, sadly, only open to trade visitors; “We’re excited to announce the 13th Annual Destination PlayStation event, hosted by Sony Computer Entertainment America, February 25-28, 2013. This year’s destination brings us back to the picturesque Sonoran Desert and the luxurious Fairmont Scottsdale Princess resort. As our guests, you’ll be treated to food, drink, play, and a first look at all the amazing new releases coming from Sony Computer Entertainment America Entertainment in 2013.”
