Previously, All Games Beta had astutely pointed out that UK retailer GAME had listed Tomb Raider with multiplayer as a feature, citing specific details on the characters players can participate as. “Survive as a Team: Play a variety of multiplayer modes as Lara’s Shipmates or Yamatai’s Scavengers,” reportedly read the text which has since been removed.
So that’s definitely looks official, Tomb Raider will have multiplayer. Personally, as a Tomb Raider fan, I’m not happy about this. I’m not saying that multiplayer for games like this can’t be done well, I’m just saying that sometimes they aren’t necessary. I’m saying that there is value to a robust yet completely single player experience. Games such as Dishonored and Sleeping Dogs proved that to us this year.
But that’s just me, where do you stand on multiplayer being included in Tomb Raider? To take that a step further, where do you stand on multiplayer being added to franchises that traditionally haven’t had or seemed to need them? Hit up the comments and let us know.
