Disney Infinity, a long rumored and recently noted “new gaming initiative” is to be presented at an event in Hollywood in mid-January. The event will feature key speakers John Pleasants and John Lasseter, the Co-President of Disney Interactive and the Chief Creative Officer of Disney and Pixar Animation Studios respectively.
According to a recent “leak” to Polygon, Infinity will be a sandbox gaming experience pulling from Pixar and Disney resources. Infinity will play similarly to Toy Story 3: The Video Game’s “Toy Box” mode. Different characters of Disney and Pixar worlds will to be able to perform various actions across multiple game modes. The virtual worlds will be based on well-known assets such as: Cars, The Incredibles, Aladdin, and recent gaming film Wreck-it-Ralph.
Disney Infinity will be showcased on January 15th at the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood, CA.
