Those hoping to get their claws on the Bohemia Interactive tactical shooter ArmA III, will have to unfortunately wait a tad longer, with the developer delaying the game until sometime in 2013. Oh yeah, that’s right – No exact date or quarter of 2013 was given.
The recent departure of Daniel Musil from the studio might be one of the reasons behind the delay, with Joris-Jan van ‘t Land taking over as Project Lead on Arma III.
“The additional development time enables the project to reach its full potential, with the studio expecting to finalize their release plans in the new year,” said the developer on their website.
“We’ve been in the process of implementing changes that will help us innovate as a studio under unexpected circumstances – facing problems we simply couldn’t have imagined.” Land referring to the two Bohemia developers jailed in Greece on espionage charges.
“We’re still trying to make sense of the situation and hope that our colleagues will be released soon. Although their plight has certainly affected us on a personal level, we continue working on the tasks identified as key to the release of Arma 3.”
Hopefully the delay will only be limited to the start of 2013. For now we will just have to wait and see. Make sure to stay tuned to the site for the official release date for ArmA III once it lands!
