Since its release, Diablo III has gotten PC gamers talking more than perhaps any title in the format’s history since Half-Life 2. The title is both lauded and criticized by the community for its gameplay, graphical style and item trading system amongst other aspects. One thing most people can agree on though is that Diablo III is certainly worth spending a few hours of your life playing.
If you aren’t the owner of a reasonably powerful PC however (although you certainly don’t need a powerhouse system to run it) you may not have had the opportunity to try out the game for yourself, and consistent rumors of the game coming to consoles have yet to become a reality. Hopefully not for much longer however, as Blizzard has told website Polygon that they have managed to get the title running on console hardware as a test project.
Chief Executive Officer Rob Pardo said; “We’re still kind of exploring it. We’ve got builds up and running on it. We’re hoping to get it far enough along where we can make it an official project, but we’re not quite ready to release stuff about it, but it’s looking pretty cool.”
For now Blizzard’s priority is finishing off the much-anticipated expansion pack for the PC version of their dungeon crawler. Hopefully at some point shortly afterwards they will get the official nod for PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game at least.
